High Strength Riveted Geocell

Product Introduction

High Strength Riveted Geocells are a premium grade of cellular confinement systems designed for heavy-duty civil engineering applications. Unlike standard geocells that use thermal ultrasonic welding, these are secured with high-strength rivets (often steel or heavy-duty polymer) to ensure the joints don't fail under extreme mechanical stress.

Working Principle

Key Features & Construction

Material: Typically made from High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) or improved polymeric alloys.

The "Rivet" Advantage: Traditional welds can sometimes peel under high heat or intense lateral pressure. Riveting provides a mechanical lock that offers superior peel strength and durability in harsh environments.

Textured/Perforated Walls: The strips are usually textured to increase friction with infill material and perforated to allow for lateral water drainage.

Performance Benefits

Load Support: It transforms unstable soils into a stiff mattress. When vertical load is applied, the cell walls provide lateral confinement, preventing the infill (sand, gravel, or soil) from moving sideways.

High Tensile Strength: The riveted joints allow the system to withstand significant "hoop stress" without the cells deforming or unzipping.

Slope Protection: On steep embankments, these cells prevent surface erosion by "anchoring" the topsoil and vegetation roots within the honeycomb structure.

Application Case

Application

It is mainly applied to all kinds of roadbeds and soft foundation treatment, such as highways, railways, deserts, swamps, tidal flats, airports, ports, docks, etc.

It can also be used in loess collapsible roadbeds, expansive soil, and other roadbed reinforcement.

Also widely used in slope protection, channel protection, erosion control and retaining wall projects.
