Grass Parking Pavers
Product Introduction
Grass parking pavers (also known as turf pavers or grass grid systems) are a permeable paving solution that allows you to park vehicles on a "lawn" without destroying the grass or creating muddy ruts. They consist of a honeycombed or grid-like structure that supports the weight of the car while protecting the roots and soil beneath.
1、Eco-Friendly: They reduce stormwater runoff by allowing rain to soak directly into the ground, filtering out pollutants naturally.
2、Cooler Surface: Unlike asphalt, which absorbs and radiates heat (the "Heat Island Effect"), grass pavers stay cool through evaporation.
3、Aesthetics: They provide a lush, green look that blends into your landscape rather than a slab of grey or black.
4、Zoning Compliance: Many municipalities have limits on "impermeable surfaces." Grass pavers often count as green space, allowing you to build a driveway without hitting those limits.
Working Principle
The working principle of lawn pavers (grass pavers) can be summarized as: "Structural load-bearing, internal growth." Through a scientific layered system, it transforms the vertical pressure from vehicles into horizontally distributed pressure, thus providing a solid walking surface while protecting plant roots.
1. Structured Pressure Dispersion (Load Transfer)
This is the core function of lawn pavers.
Grid Support: Whether made of plastic or concrete, its honeycomb or grid-like sidewalls act like countless miniature "support columns."
Stress Diffusion: When a vehicle drives over the lawn paver, the pressure is not directly applied to the soil and grass roots, but is borne by the grid sidewalls, distributing the weight evenly to the underlying gravel base. This prevents vehicles from creating deep ruts in the soil.
2. Protecting "Growth Points": Preventing Soil Compaction
The reason ordinary lawns cannot be parked on is due to soil compaction. Repeated vehicle traffic squeezes out air and moisture from the soil, causing grass roots to die from lack of oxygen and water absorption.
Spare Space:The cavities of the grass paver are filled with loose, nutrient-rich soil, with the paver walls rising a few millimeters above the soil surface.
Harbor Effect:Vehicles always roll over the top of the paver walls, keeping the soil within the cavities loose. The grass canopy (growing point) and roots are sheltered within the paver, much like living in a sturdy basement, avoiding direct trampling.
3. Multi-Layer Permeable System (Sponge Effect)** Lawn paving systems typically consist of multiple functional layers, each with its own principle:
Top Layer (Grass and Filler): Absorbs rainwater and enhances visual appeal.
Core Layer (Grass Pavers):Provides physical strength and protects the root system.
Leveling Layer (Coarse Sand/Fine Gravel): Ensures the paver is laid flat and provides micro-drainage.
Base Layer (Grated Crushed Stone):The critical load-bearing layer and water reservoir. The gaps between the gravel temporarily store large amounts of rainwater, which then slowly infiltrates the soil, preventing surface runoff and waterlogging.
4. Root-Based Soil Stabilization Principle
Over time, the grass roots penetrate the bottom of the paving grid, embedding themselves into the underlying gravel layer and original soil.
Bio-anchoring: The roots intertwine with the grid structure, forming a "bio-composite material." This makes the entire paving system more stable over time, less prone to displacement or slippage.

Application Case
Application
1. Residential and Private Properties
For homeowners, lawn mats are a powerful tool for enhancing the aesthetics of their property and increasing usable space.
Eco-friendly Garages and Driveways: Ideal as secondary driveways or open-air parking spaces, making your front door look like a garden rather than a parking lot.
RV/Boat Parking Areas: RVs are typically heavy and parked for extended periods; lawn mats prevent wheels from getting stuck in mud while ensuring proper drainage.
Pavilion Paths: Creates walkways that maintain the continuity of the lawn without becoming muddy in rainy weather.
2. Commercial and Municipal Public Spaces
In urban planning, lawn mats are considered an important tool for "sponge city" construction.
Overflow Parking: Shopping malls, stadiums, or churches often require extra parking during peak hours. Using lawn mats allows these areas to remain green during normal times, only serving as parking when needed.
Emergency Fire Access: Lawns require buildings to have large fire truck access routes around them. These pathways are rarely used. Using turf mats can visually blend them into the green belt while meeting the weight-bearing requirements of fire trucks.
Park and playground paths: Withstand high-frequency trampling, protect grass roots from being crushed, and prevent ground hardening.
3. Landscape and ecological engineering: Utilize their excellent drainage and soil-stabilizing properties for environmental remediation.
Soil stabilization and slope protection: Installed on riverbanks or mountain slopes, plant roots penetrate the mesh and enter the soil, providing excellent sand control and preventing soil erosion.
Golf course paths: Allow golf carts to pass while maintaining the overall green aesthetic of the course.
Roof gardens: Lightweight plastic grass pavers are ideal for rooftop greening, reducing the load and providing a good drainage system.
